Tips for putting on my stuff and getting it to fit right.

What seams look like on the outside of the garment.

  1. Is the care label on the outside of the garment? If so it is inside out. Oops!
  2. If you are trying on a cape: Put the zipper over one shoulder so that it runs along it down your arm. I made one size, wearing it long part to the front or back can change the feel of the fit. If you should have an ample bust you may wish to wear it long in the front and short in the back. If you are not so busty, like me, you may wish to wear it short in the front so you don't feel like there is so much fabric across your front. If you feel like you are wearing a warm hug, then you are good to go.
  3. Should you find yourself with a flat top toque to put on: Pull it all the way on, roll back the rim as much as you want and slide it back so you can see. I always like to be able to see.
  4. If you found yourself with a simple toque: Your biggest challenge is to check that it is not inside out (see #1). You can fold back the edge or not, it is your toque.
  5. The many lengths of sleeves: You will find one sleeve has a logo and one has the care label (the logo should be on the outside and the care label inside). I like to wear the long stripe up the inside of my arm, you might not. If you have a pair of longer sleeves you can bunch them up or wear them all the way up your arm. The little cuffs were meant to keep your wrists warm. If you work in a very air conditioned office and you type they are good to give you just enough warmth to keep your fingers happily typing, or, if you are out and about and your sweater sleeves are on the wide side they can help keep the draughts out.
  6. Cardigans long or short: Find the size that gives you some room to wear other clothing under. It too should fit like a warm hug, not a hot squeeze.
  7. The pull over: I only made it in one size (like the cape) so it is really all about getting it on the right way round. I put a tag in the centre back of this one to help determine back to front because the thumb holes will twist the arms if you put it on backwards, not so comfy.
  8. And then we have the scarf: Wrap it round your neck and set off into the world. As for the care label on this item, I only tacked it on so you can take it off easily after you have read what to do should you need to wash it.
